Privacy Policy for Reeky

Last updated: July 25, 2026

Reeky is a lifestyle application for tracking cigarette use, smoking reduction goals, quit progress, and cigarette-related expenses. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.

1. Local-First Data Storage

Reeky is designed as a local-first application. Information you enter into the app, and app state generated from that information, is stored primarily in app-private storage on your device.

This may include:

Reeky does not currently use a user account system, developer-operated backend, or cloud synchronization service to upload this information.

2. Data Collection and Automatic Transmission

In the current version of Reeky, the app does not automatically transmit your smoking records, quit or reduction plans, cost information, progress information, or other app-entered personal data to the developer.

The current version of Reeky does not use advertising SDKs, analytics services, crash-reporting services, attribution services, or tracking technologies that automatically collect user data from the app.

3. Third-Party Sharing

Reeky does not currently sell app-entered user data or automatically share that data with third-party companies or organizations.

However, Reeky includes a manual backup export feature. If you choose to export or share a backup, you decide where the backup is sent or saved through your device's sharing interface. The selected destination may be a third-party application or service and may process the file according to its own privacy practices.

4. Manual Backup, Export, and Restore

Reeky allows you to create a manual backup file with the .qsbackup extension. The backup is stored as JSON data and may contain information from your current smoking or quit session, including smoking activity, dates, plans, costs, currency, progress, and related settings.

Backup files created by Reeky are not encrypted by the app. You should store and share them carefully.

Backup export or sharing occurs only after you initiate the action. On Android, the app uses the system sharing interface so that you can choose the destination application, service, or recipient.

Reeky also allows you to select a backup file for restore through the device's file-selection interface. Restoring a backup requires user action and confirmation before current session data is replaced.

5. Local Data Encryption

Reeky does not currently apply its own additional application-level encryption to locally stored app data. Local data is stored in app-private storage provided by the operating system.

The security of this information therefore also depends on the security of your device, operating system, screen lock, and any destinations where you choose to save or share backup files.

6. Notifications

Reeky may use local device notifications for smoking-plan reminders, tracking reminders, re-engagement reminders, and related progress messages.

Notification scheduling and content generation are performed locally on the device. Reeky does not use a remote push-notification service in the current version.

Notification text may contain smoking-related or plan-related information, such as a daily cigarette limit or reminder. Depending on your device settings, this content may be visible on the lock screen or notification surface.

Where required by Android, Reeky requests permission to show notifications. You can change notification permissions through device settings.

7. General Progress and Milestone Information

Reeky may display general quit-progress and smoke-free milestone information based on user-entered smoking information and elapsed time.

This milestone information is general and non-personalized. It is not a medical measurement, medical diagnosis, medical treatment, disease prevention service, or personalized medical advice. Individual outcomes and timelines may vary.

Reeky is not a substitute for advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a qualified healthcare professional.

8. General Support Features

Reeky may provide optional local support features such as timers, breathing prompts, and general suggestions for moments when users want to stay focused on their smoking reduction or quit goals.

These features are general lifestyle support tools. They do not constitute medical treatment, mental health treatment, therapy, counseling, or clinical support.

9. Data Reset and Deletion

The in-app reset function removes the active smoking or quit session data managed by the app and cancels related pending app notifications.

Some application preferences, such as language preference, notification settings, or local app-open state, may remain after an in-app reset.

Backup files that you previously exported, saved, or shared outside the app are not deleted by the in-app reset function.

Uninstalling Reeky generally removes the app's private local storage from the device. However, manually exported backup files or copies stored in other applications, services, or locations may remain.

10. Permissions

Depending on your Android version and enabled features, Reeky may use permissions related to:

Reeky does not currently request location, camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, calendar, or body-sensor permissions.

11. Children's Privacy

Reeky is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The app's declared target audience on Google Play is users aged 18 and over.

12. Future Changes to Features and Data Practices

Reeky's features and data practices may change in future versions. If future versions introduce new data practices, third-party services, or features that affect how information is handled, this Privacy Policy and applicable Google Play disclosures will be updated accordingly.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page by updating the "Last updated" date.
